We have built a new website!

Hi ,  I have been back from Australia for a month now and have been working away here at the farm.
Part of the work we have been doing is deciding what the name of our farm will be.  Which will be Tipuana Farm.  Our new website which is www.fruittreeforest.com .  If you could please register on the www.fruittreeforest.com site that would be cool because I will be posting and sharing most from there, Thank you.

We also are creating two non profits.  One is named Evoke Hope .  www.evokehope.com  and the other is for the Permaculture San Marcos garden club that has been started in our local city.
For updates on what is going on here at Tipuana Farm go to www.fruittreeforest.com.

Thank you,
Joey D’Elia

I made it to Geoff Lawton’s in Australia!

Hi its joey and i made it to Australia and got over to the farm after a little adventer on another plane and a long bus ride, then a little van trip.  Found a nice tent spot and set up.  Have been walking around and having a nice time meeting people here and looking at the gardens.  The food forests are cool.  Will be able to see more of the farm on Monday when the PDC offically starts.  Till soon, Joey

It was nice that i got here early. I was able to get a nice platform site. :)

Helping our friends put up their tipi

Hi everyone just wanted to share some pictures of the tipi we helped our friends set up at their home.  We stepped the slope and made a flat area to assemble the deck.  Then we built a little retaining wall with those rocks.  Another weekend came and it was time to raise the poles and put the canvas on!

Sunshine, Star and Sarah at the dirty permies work day

We were upsizing our plugs of acacia and tipus.  We mixed some of our own blend for the potting soil that we made from some dirt and compost fines from our compost pile.  We put some crimson clover seed in with the plants to fix some nitrogen and spice things up. I am really excited.

The compost toilet for all is ready for action!

Here is video of the 2 stall compost toilet we made last weekend on one of our permaculture fun days.  It will be for the groups of people that visit the site to have some fun and lend a helping hand.  I just used it this morning when I was out working on our truck.  Very convenient having the toilet by the classroom work shop area.
